Hello Alll.I am thinking about upgrading my old 9800gtx.At the moment i am having core 2 duo e6600 at 3.7Ghz with Asus rampage formula x48 and 4gb of ram.PSU is 500W.I am confused because i wanna upgrade the gpu but dont know which one will be the best choice because of the cpu. I am thinking about 6850,7770,550ti or 650ti.

You can go for the HD7850 if you game on 1920x1080p

GTX 660 is another option . Even so bottoleneck might occur in some recent games but 95% times your ok :)

The processor will be a bottleneck in a handful of modern games, but not many and not too badly. What types of games do you play, and at what resolution?

I'd say 7770 if you are on a budget but 7850 if you just want the performance. Personally, unless I had plans to upgrade the CPU in the future, I'd go with the 7770 in this particular case.

It's certainly a good card, and it will move along nicely if you decide to upgrade that CPU, which probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe get one of the new batch of Intel CPUs coming soon.
