Upgrade from a fx-8350 to a i7-4770K

No, if budget is not a problem buy a better GPU or some fancy peripheral...

It's a pretty small upgrade, the 8350 is a good CPU. You're better off spending money overclocking or upgrading your GPU. Having a nice keyboard/mouse/monitor/headset is nice too.

So to sum it up.
The fx 8350 is a excellent CPU, and noone recommend switching out out for a 4770k.
A better solution would be to buy some other peripherals, SSD or maybe a better cooling solution for better overclocking.

For gaming the Intel is better - the problem is the amount of money you'll spend to change is not worth it. Wait for the new cpus to come out and then maybe it will be worth it. The 8350, while being less efficient, is still a very capable cpu - especially when OCed. You could get a very good gpu for the money - GTX 780(Ti) or a 280x/290x if your psu will handle it.

Yeah, that's different. It should be able to handle it, but a 4960x would be ideal. There is no need for that unless you want to do something crazy. One 780 can run BF4 on ultra just fine.

If budget is no problem, and you are going high end SLI, then Socket 2011 is the way to go, with a 4930k! The 4960x is great too, but the 4930k is almost the same for much less.

Half the price, actually. So if budget is seriously no issue and $1000 means nothing to you, go for the 4960x. If you'd rather save $500, go for the 4930k.

I still say go for the gpus - wait till the next gen of cpus/mobos. I'm thinking Intel must have something up their sleeve. AMD has closed the gap way more than I thought they were capable of.

Nope, there laptops are great if you can't afford to pay for the heating during winter

I said AMD has closed the gap because in very gpu intensive games, an AMD cpu like an 8320/50, especially OCed, will perform pretty well - well enough that the gain from dumping mobo/cpu will not be that great.

In many games an 8320 or 8350 overclocked will perform closely to an i5 or i7. Of course it won't perform nearly as well for single threaded games, but it's powerful enough to compete.
