Upgrade from AMD Athlon x4 750k

Hi there, my 750k is creating a bottleneck with my 750ti, and would like to upgrade it. I would preferably like to stay on the FM2/FM2+ socket, but i would consider changing. Any advice is appreciated.

FM2 socket has no sensible upgrade options.

You'd have to upgrade to either Intel or AMD Ryzen platform.

Budget? I wouldn't recommend investing into a older socket, look into the Ryzen 3 (AM4) platform for a good price/performance upgrade. If you can't afford it atm then overclock your 750K as far as it will safely go and save up until you can afford the upgrade.

Nah - forget it. It's not even enough for Kaby Lake pentium system.

See if your current motherboard supports overclocking, if so you can try to overclock the CPU & GPU and get a bit more performance from the system until you have a larger budget.

Thank you for this! I will try overclocking and see if that helps. Also, I had not considered ryzen, helpful suggestion!
