Hello Friends,

I'd like to ask for your kind help what to chose for upgrade (I'm into Casual gaming, )

currently I have an I3-3210 cpu with an GTX 1060 card. 8GB DDR3 RAM

I'm now thinking about upgrading my motherboard and CPU, idk what best for low budget
I am looking for cpu that can handles 59-60 fps game, since I play on tv monitor 60Hz,
Is it necesarry for changing My motherboard too ? I use 1155 Socket

Graphic quality not really important , I prefer performance , Currenly I played skyrim and Fallout, Black desert, on low-medium setting
I just casual player, so low quality setting is fine for me, but it need more than 50 fps .

My budget is also limited to this frame. So I am not looking for high end rig like i9 10th gen or ryzen threadripper etc, ^_^

I am using this pc for almost 5 years now, it is not broken, but when I playing it is almost use up 80-90% RAM
or should I Just buy more RAM ?
and what better now , ppl says Ryzen , or is it still Intel ?

Can you guys please advise? , Since I am not that smart, but I will do my best to learn

Thank you

Solution
Instead of buying one thing at a time, you might want to wait until you have the money for a real upgrade. Also I advise getting a better quality power supply. Those CM units are pretty terrible.

intel has better single thread performance, while amd gives you more cores for the same price.

if you want to use your system for gaming, i would recommend intel

amd for photo editing and video editing and rendering and stuff like that

your gonna want at least 16 gb ram just in general

Intel is only better, if you are looking at chips prior to the Ryzen 5000 series.

Thank you for moderator and friends, this is my spec and what I want to upgrade

CPU : Core i3-3210 - 3.2Ghz (4CPUs)
RAM : DDR3 8GB
Mainboard : ECS H81H2-M17
PSU : Cooler master RS-500-PCAR-J3
GPU : Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB
HDD : 500GB samsung - 2TB seagate

Approximate Purchase Date: it is not that urgent, so I will gather more data first

Budget Range: $50 - $200 , I will upgrade and buy one item at a time

System Usage from Most to Least Important:

Gaming and data transfer ( I have many hd movies lol)
need fast data transfer USB 4 ? Is it exist ?

Are you buying a monitor: No, I use my 32 inch TV monitor, 60Hz

Parts to Upgrade: CPU - Mobo - RAM - HDD/SSD , Which one better first ?

Location: Indonesia

Parts Preferences:
Hmm, what do you guys thinks better Intel or AMD ?
since I am not that smart in this knowledge, sorry
I read now Ryzen CPU better than Intel Core , what do you guys think ?

Overclocking: Nope, Never I think

SLI or Crossfire: << I dont even know what is this , 2GPU ? I just use 1 rn

Your Monitor Resolution:
for desktop now I am using 1366x768 , but for gaming usually I use 1280x720 , sometimes windowed, somethimes fullscreen, I am afraid if its too much resolution I will got lag,

Additional Comments:

I dont need more fancy model or brand new, even I prefer used one, since its cheaper,
If u guys have some unused parts, I will gladly accept your gift , ^_^

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading:
My RAM and CPU usage got high, this game SKYRIM SE and FALLOUT 4 , eat much ram , 8GB DDR3 and it got 80% usage , same with my CPU , My i3-3210 got 60 degree Celcius, meanwhile my GTX 1060 GPU just use 49-55 Celcius. but I tried the 'Witcher 3', on Medium it got 80 Celcius in CPU and GPU

Thanks.

If you want something, to hold you over until you can get that or an even better upgrade, swapping for a used 3770, and upgrade the ram to 16gb, should bring you some improvement. You are going to want a better cooler, too, if you are using the stock cooler, from your i3. Which one to get will be limited to what your case can support, height wise.

so its better to stay with Intel , not switch to ryzen ? is intel better ?

Ryzen 5000 is the current king, for everything. The above Intel was just the cheapest new platform option. Prices are jacked up, right now, and most Ryzen 5000 are out of stock, most of the time. Unless you live near a Microcenter, it's nearly impossible to ever get one. At best you can maybe do a Ryzen 3000.

The ASRock board has BFB (base frequency boost) and can actually boost locked processors by giving it more power.
