Question Upgrade from i7 4790 to i7 7700 worth it?

currently own an i7 4790 which is bottlenecking in AC Odyssey with a gtx 1060 3gb.Bottlenecks happens mostly in crowded areas which drops fps to 40s on high setting.-Happens in Farcry new dawn as well.

gtx 1060 3gb
3x4gb 1600mhz corsair dominator cl9
thermaltake smart 600w psu

Not worth it. Its still a 4 core 8 thread cpu with faster single core performance. Unless going for a 8700(k)/9700(k) I don’t see the upgrade as worth it. The 7700 is about i5 8600 level for gaming.

Well AC Odyssey is a very CPU demanding and very poorly optimized title. An upgrade from a fast 4c/8t to a faster 4c/8t isnt worth it since 7700k still cost so much. You could easily get a faster 8c/16t ryzen cpu for about the same money.
