Question Upgrade from RTX 3090 to RTX 4090??

My system,

MSI x570 Unify.
AMD 5950x no OC.
MSI Suprim X RTX 3090.
2x16gb Corsair 3200mhz.
1200watts Corsair PSU.
LG C8 55inch @4k 60hz.

I play games on a 55inch Oled TV 60fps/hz @4k, should i upgrade to a 4090? I'm not interested playing on a monitor 144hz @4k.

There is no reason to ask this question until after the product launch and official benchmarks/reviews come out.
You also havent indicated what you play, how well it runs on current hardware, or any reason you would need to upgrade.

Playing Call of duty - Black Ops, mainly.
The only reason i would upgrade is just to have the latest and greatest.

I personally see no reason to upgrade unless you have actual performance issues.
If you want to spend the $1600+ for an upgrade just to satisfy your desire, thats fine too.
Performance wise, I dont see any particular reason unless there are specific issues.

The general guideline is to upgarde a min of every two tiers! So in your case the RTX5xxx would be worth the upgrade,

You could argue the 'latest and greatest' is something to have, but really that's up to you.

Also, if you are gonna limit the res to 60hz/fps @4k, then a new GPU will be wasted.

You be wasting all your cash just to get the same performance you be getting now. Yes there may be more extra stuff added to each new GPU Gen but your not going to notice anything. My computer broke last week and had to use my dads pc to play games and he got 2060 or less and when played game did not really notice anything diffrent felt the same! If you have money to buy 4090 then upgrade cpu and motherboard and other parts to make your computer even more better! You could get the new AMD CPU coming out with ddr5 ram and new motherboard

No, not unless you plan to game above 4k@60hz. Your display already limits you. So there is no point.

Play your games at your desired resolution, are you satisfied?
Yes -> you don't waste more money.
No -> you look out for a newer GPU, right now yours is one of the best with no better option, 4090 might not be 2x or 4x faster as Nvidia claims.
