I would like suggestions or feedback on the following. If I am posting to the incorrect forum please direct me to the correct one
I have a MSI Codex R 10SC-004C (MS-B0Y2) system with an Intel I5-10400F 2.9ghz, RTX 2060, 512gb SD and
16gb Ram. Motherboard used is the B460M Pro-VDH (have not confirmed that however I believe I had seen this on the build sheet ).
I have owned this desktop for a little over two years and I happy with overall performance. Here are
my questions I would like advice with:

1. Need to upgrade the SSD as I am running out of space. Any suggestions on make / model / type I should
look at purchasing. I believe a 1GB will serve my needs. Any compatibility issues I need to be worried about

2. I am thinking of upgrading the RAM to 32 gb. Any suggestions on brand / make / speed etc. I see pricing
from around $100 to well over $500 and really do not know if I will see a huge benefit in spending crazy money
on RAM. I know that I need two sticks of 16 gb each. I am sure I will need to worry about compatibility of the RAM
so any info on that would be appreciated

I use the computer to mainly surf the internet, youtube, and work using MS office (not 365) with heavy usage on Powerpoint. I find
my powerpoint slows down when I add to many pics or videos so I belive extra RAM may help a bit or possibly a faster HD.
The only game I occasionally play is MS flight sim however I am thinking of removing MS Flight Sim and trying DSC Flight Sim as I
believe it may be easier on the computer resources I realize a better graphics card would make sense however my budget for the RAM and HD upgrade is $500. Thank-you

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You can't go beyond DDR4-2666Mhz so, anything advertised to be clocked higher will only go to DDR4-2666MHz, due to the chipset for your motherboard and the processors integrated memory controller.

You can drop in pretty much any brand of ram, just don't mix and match the ram in your current build with new rams. If anything, you could look into a 2x16GB DDR4-2666MHz ram kit by practically any brand.

What is the make and model of the SSD in your build? You can open up Device Manager and see what's shown under Disk Drives.

Where are you located? Preferred site for purchase?

thank-you for your feedback. When I am home tonight I will check to see which hard drive I have and get back to you. In your opinion would moving the RAM capacity to 32 gb help with powerpoint or will I even notice any discernible difference in performance. thank you again for your help

On ram, open up task manager and access the resource monitor/memory tab.
Look at the hard fault page rate while your pc is heavily loaded.
If you see a hard fault rate more than zero, you could benefit from more ram.
Otherwise don't bother.
If you need 32gb, buy a 2 x 16gb kit.
Ram speed matters little.

A 1tb m.2 ssd should cost about $70.
Intel 670P and samsung 870 evo plus are good quality:

You can copy or clone your C drive to a new ssd easily.
I like the samsung ssd migration aid.
