These are the specs i currently have and im waiting for mbo to arrive
i3 12100f new
Biostar H610MH new (still hasnt arrived)
2x8gb fury beast 3200mhz cl16 new
Gtx 1650 super
lc power 6650 v2.2
Patriot Burst Elite
250gb hdd
new parts are the ones im swapping out

Now on mbo manufacturers page it says this.
Please update system BIOS before upgrade your processor (CPU) to avoid system failure
Is this for 13th gen? I really dont like the fact that if my pc turns off during a bios update it would die
Also is there anything else i need to do beside swap out components enable xmp and continue to use pc as usual.

12/13th gen are the same socket so both sets of chips work on the same boards. The initial bios release supports all the 12th gen CPU's so you shouldn't need to update it for any of those CPU's. You would need a new one if you were putting a 13th gen CPU on it but there isn't a bios release for that yet.

It's not a bad idea to have the latest bios though because there will be bug fixes and security updates.

12th gen is a new architecture, if you are on something older a fresh reinstall of Windows is recommended. Also if you are genuinely on a 250GB HDD rather than an SSD I would recommend moving to an SSD boot drive at the earliest opportunity. Some recommendations:
