Upgrade i3-4160 to i5-4460, worth it?

hello, my rig is i3-4160 GTX 750 Ti 8 GB of RAM, i am thinking of upgrading my processor to an i5-4460 because ive read that 4 real cores are needed these days to play modern games, and ive also read that it makes my rig "future-proof" as well as more stable fps in games. Is this true? should i upgrade? or should i just upgrade my GPU to a better one that is almost priced the same as the i5-4460 (I can't upgrade both).

Depends on what games you play, but personally I would get a better gpu like a rx470.

i play Batman: AO and AC, Assassin's Creed IV and Rogue, Tomb Raider, and Call of Duty: AW. I'm planning on playing GTA V and Witcher 3
