Upgrade i5 2500 to i5 3470

i5 2500
GigaByte GTX 1060 6gb Aorus Xtreme Edition
8gb RAM
2TB HDD
Antec 500w

Is it worth the upgrade ? My current CPU is bottlenecking and i see lower fps in fortnite (1920x1080) as compared to what i should be getting on a 1060.

An i7 3770 is a nice improvement. It uses the same 4 cores but also has hyperthreading giving you a total of 8 threads. As far as Fortnite is concerned, I don't know if that game will make use of the extra threads. I'm sure someone here who plays the game can answer that part for you.

In gaming terms, all i5's 2nd and 3rd gen are about the same unless you have the ability to overclock. For a board that lacks O.C potential, the only real upgrades are an i7 2600/3770 or the K variants as they add hyperthreading which Fortnight can take advantage of.
