https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-945GCM-S2L-rev-10/sp#sp .Can i upgrade memory frequency, under 667mhz?

Your motherboard supports DDR2 400/533/667mhz ram, up to 4gb (so max 2gb/slot). There should be no problem, unless you install 2 different sticks (except if it's a kit).
Take a look an the memory QVL list. Those are tested to work on that specific motherboard model.
