Alright this is one of my last decisions in finishing and upgrading my build I've had for the past year.

I've been playing on a 1440x900 75hz monitor, I want to know if I've been missing out not playing 1080p

CPU: FX-6300
Mobo: Asus M5A97 R2.0

GPU: MSI GTX 970 (on the way)

I've been watching videos and FX-6300/GTX 970 should be fine together. I've watched videos of them together at even at Stock Speeds work fine.

My choice is if I should stick to my same monitor, and upgrade to an i5 + new mobo. Or I could keep my current setup and save up to buy the Asus VG248QE (144hz monitor)

How worth it is that monitor? Should I meet halfway and buy an Acer H226HQLbid (IPS 60hz) and have some money to save up and upgrade the CPU/Mobo.

Any advice on what I should to, my budget on upgrades would be around $250 ($280 max to buy 144hz if advised)

Do you think it'll bottleneck that hard? I've seen videos where an FX6300 performs fine with a GTX 970 on "high end" games.

I understand an i5 will be quicker, but is it so needed that I should keep using a 900p monitor?

Also isn't a FX6300 essentially and 8350 with 2 cores less?
