I WILL LIKE TO KNOW IF IT'S WOTH THE PRICE TO UPGRADE MY Gateway 6021GZ?
If so if I can upgrade a CPU to a 533 MHz?
if not I think the fastest for the buck is a Intel Pentium M 755 at 2.0 GHz. For 15$ on EBAY.

Except a better cpu (from the same gen) will use more power and will produce more heat 🙁
It would be in your best interest to upgrade. I can't imagine it's much fun to do anything on it. If that isn't possible for you monetarily, then maybe upgrade the CPU.

What OS are you running? It could probably handle a stripped linux pretty well.

Also, it's most likely that your CPU is directly soldered to the motherboard, make sure to check that out before you buy a new processor. It's not removable if it is soldered.

Well, you may be right. But it's also possible that as long as it runs in the same temperature range, he should be fine. Besides, it's an old machine. Eventually he will have to just get a new one. But for right now, putting in that new CPU may fit the bill as long as it handles the integrated graphics for it and runs at the same wattage as his old CPU, along with keeping his temps at a good average..
