Hey everyone I'm looking to do some minor upgrades to my PC. And first thing is my PSU I currently have a 700w OCZ ModXtream; its alright but the 8 pin is too short and I'm probably going to get a new case. Any moduler PSU's would be great. somthing in the $100 range.

My Specs
Asrock 970 extreme3
AMD FX-8120
8gb G.skill Ripjaws
AMD 6870(Sapphire)
OCZ Modextream 700w
Coolermaster evo 212+
Coolermaster HAF 912 case

Possible upgreades
NZXT Phantom
8gb G.Skill ripjaws
Biostar 990FXE
and PSU

Thanks.

For a system using a single Radeon HD 6870 graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater power supply. The power supply should also have a combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 30 Amps or greater and have at least two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Total Continuous Amperage Available on the +12V Rail(s) is the most important factor.

The OCZ ModXStream Pro Series 700W (OCZ700MXSP), with its combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 46 Amps and with one 6-pin and one (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is more than...

The PSU does work I'm just afraid that it may not have enough power to support everything I got in my rig. Not unless you tell me otherwise. Also its been kinda hard to hunt down an 8pin extension in Canada.

There is even spare capacity to handle overclocking.

For a system using two Radeon HD 6870 graphics cards in 2-way CrossFireX mode AMD specifies a minimum of an 600 Watt or greater power supply. The power supply should also have a combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 45 Amps or greater and have at least four 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

For 2-way CrossFireX the OCZ ModXStream Pro Series 700W (OCZ700MXSP) just meets the minimum recommended electrical requirements but doesn't have the four PCI Express supplementary power connectors required or any spare capacity to handle overclocking.
