Ok I went to a pawn shop and got a good deal for a Asus i3-404u laptop.
I have experience with building and electronics before so I got to thinking for a bit and took it apart and found the model number of the mobo.
X555lD.
I checked eBay.
Found a oem x555lD. Asus I5-5200u.
Same ram except cpu. Same wattage 15 wats. Exact same ports on all locations.
And the price is super good. 150 dollars.
Now my question is. Can I replace the mobo with that specific model and it would work? I understand you can't do this to everything but if I can I would still end up cheaper then if I bought the same computer new.
I paid 120 for the laptop at the pawn shop. That mobo is 150. I'm saving money and still getting better specs and proformance.
Will this work?
The battery is the exact same too.
The only weird thing is the jump from haswell to broadwell or whatever but it's the same exact computer just better cpu it seems.
Someone know anything about this?
