Hello folks, Have had great help here from folks on the forum regarding some previous questions I had [ unrelated to this question ] so I hope some folks can keep me right with this one.

I have just gotten a superb EVGA SC GTX 1070 and I would really like to install it on my general purpose system which has these specs:

MBD: ASUS TUF Z 270 MK2
CPU: i7-7700 K
GPU: Asus GTX 1060
RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4
PSU: Corsair 750 watt psu.

However, my current GTX 1060 uses a 6-pin connector and the 1070 uses an 8-pin. so would the 1070 actually be compatable with the system ? I know I should have asked this before I purchased the 1070 but it is what it is.
cheers.

Your 6 pin for your card should actually be a 6+2 pin made to use as a 8 pin, or your PSU has another cable that is 6+2 pin.

Thanks, so does that mean I need to get an 8-pin cable to suit the 1070 ? I still have cables left over from when I had it built so will have a look, but am not at the machine at the moment.

Yes, your system is fully compatible with the EVGA SC 1070 GTX. You've got a great 750W power supply that will easily support the 1070, so power is fine. As for connectors - if your power supply has 6+2 pin cables, just plug them into the 8 pin connector on the video card, that's standard. If suddenly your power supply doesn't have an 8-pin cable, you can use adapters, but it's better to check that everything is standard. So install the card and enjoy!
