Question Upgrade or no?

And how much will a new motherboard cost to support the cpu?

It'd be cheaper to get an i7-7700k, which would be an upgrade, not only for the clock speeds, but overall ability of 8 threads vrs 4, and also won't require the hastle of reinstalling windows completely because of change in mobo necessary for 9th gen cpus, which will basically be another $200ish for a half way decent Z390.

$450 to get 10-20ish fps, that you won't see anyways because it'll be beyond the refresh of your monitor.

Somethings only look good on the surface.
