My specs are in my signature. Was thinking about starting to buy pieces to upgrade to 4k. I won't be getting it all at the same time, so the order I had in mind was MOBO, CPU, GPU, then monitor.

MOBO - Z790 Asus prob.
CPU - 13th or 14th gen i7 ish
GPU - 4070? Open to suggestions.

I will be upgrading to 2x16 DDR5 7200 CL 34 shortly after.

Just curious what your thoughts are on the order of parts and if you have any changes you would make if you think money is better spent on something else. Thanks in advance.

You're fine with the above 3 components. I am curious to know hat the rest of your components are going to be. If you're recycling your PSU from your current rig, please mention it's make and model and it's age.

If you plan to stretch out the purchasing window, best stop and purchase everything in one go...so your money isn't sitting idle, locked up on parts that aren't going to be taxed/used properly.

You will need to reinstall your OS once you swap the motherboard, mind you.

What will be the primary use(s) of your PC?

Yeah, I thought about waiting and purchasing all at once that way I also get the prices at their lowest right before I start using the hardware.

The PSU I planned on updating after RAM to something a little larger like:

Match this up with a RTX 4070 Ti or RX 7900 XT and then you can play all those newer titles on high without having to break the bank.

Thank you for putting in the effort to this, I appreciate it. Same for the Ryzen version.
