I am looking to stream and/or record with my PC but there is so much information and various theories I am not sure what to upgrade or how to test to determine a definitive answer.
Currently I have:
i5 9400f
ASUS TUF B360-PLUS
8GB DDR4 2666mhz RAM
MSI RX580 8GB
LG25 inch Ultrawise 2560x1080 monitor
95% of the time I will be recording/playing Apex legends. Currently when playing I will reach around 100% on CPU and GPU usage. In terms of streaming I can stream at recommended settings (I think 640) with no lag for viewers, if I up this to 720 or 1080p the stream lags for viewers.
I have an old setup lying around Z68 i5 2500k, would it be a good idea to use this as a streaming pc, or is it not worth the headache and preferable to upgrade my system. With my current system should I upgrade entirely or would a GPU/CPU upgrade suffice for my needs?
Can anyone help with some tests or benchmarks that can determine where my shortfall is. I know there are a billion threads on this already but I cannot seem to find a straight forward answer (I know that these generally never are) but I would like some indication of which path to take.
