So, I've finally convinced my wife to convert to the PC master race. So I am rocking a AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB GPU with a i54970k CPU on a ASrock B85 ATX killer. My question is if I upgrade the GPU to a GTX 1080 would my motherboard hold me back or would it be fine?

Kyl_104 : the I5 perhaps be a little of your bottleneck with the newer games (such as BF1 and PUB as they require a lot of cpu time) that said, the I5 will none the less play flawlessly with a 1080, but do you have a 4K monitor to need a 1080 ? if not then get a 1070 and save hundreds of dollars.
