Hello everybody,
I have a Toshiba Satellite C55D-B5310w
Serial Number: 9E106229P
Part Number: PSCN4U-00T019

Here are the details of the laptop
https://support.dynabook.com/support/staticContentDetail?contentId=4006598

I was aiming to upgrade ram.
Currently have a stick of 4gb but was wondering about maximum capacity and compatibility.

The specs says Not user upgradable but it also says 2 memory slots. Can i add another one?

Here is a picture of the slots.

Also cannot find in the details if there is a max memory capacity. Can i add 8gb of ram?

Found this one to buy. Is it compatible? It is ddr3 not ddr3L. Can i use it anyways? Cause ddr3l here costs $1000 more and its too much for me.

This is another option. A bit more expensive.

If you want to upgrade the ram, upgrade with a 2x4GB DDR3L-1600Mhz ram kit, so as to make sure you're going to suffering incompatibility issues. Also, make sure you're on the latest BIOS update for your laptop. This link states that you can drop in 2x8G DDR3L-1600Mhz rams in the laptop but that would be adding stress to the memory controller on your laptop.

Play it safe and get a 2x4GB kit.

If it wasn't obvious, I'm suggesting not to mix and match rams...much like you would if you lost a shoe from a pair, you're still going to have to buy a pair from the store.

It is too much money almost $ 8000 due to taxes. Maybe even more. Its just too much.

I can afford only one of the sticks. Will it be incompatible or cant be sure until its plugged in?

If i buy the ones i mentioned what could be the worst thing that could happen ? It wouldnt be recognized by the system and thats it? If it works could it have any short/long term issues?
