I just cannot make up my mind, is it worth it?

I’m using my PC for a combination of productivity and gaming, but mostly gaming purely in 4K only, and i have my 7950X paired with 5090 Astral gpu. Would i notice an FPS increase pairing it with 9950X3D?

I also heard some rumours about the issues with the 9950X3D, due to the fact that the 3D cache is only on one CCD, accounting for some weird stuttering etc. How much should i be concerned about this?

Thanks for your opinions!

If the productivity tasks are what put food on the table and a roof over your head, then you go for the X3D part. Helps you churn through your tasks faster.

This might be a good read through;

The problem with x3D cache being on only one of CCDs is solved with BIOS and Windows updates, it's used properly now. it's mostly games that benefit from it At high resolutions it's mostly GPU that makes difference, your 7950x should be more than enough to power high end GPU, it has more cache spread on all cores than single core CCDs anyway so adding 3D cache doesn't have large effect,

"accounting for some weird stuttering" won't occur if you update BIOS&chipset driver to the latest version, and switch "CPPC" to 'driver' in BIOS. It's recommended to use MSI Afterburner to monitor the workload distribution when gaming, as you can easily check if the chipset driver is working.

Switching from 7950x to 9950x3d won't increase the average FPS if your 5090 is in 100% load, but may improve 1%low FPS, even when playing in 4K resolution.
