Upgrade the CPU

Hi folks.I currently have a I7 3930k on a x79-ud3 mobo with 16 gb ram ddr3. I was looking at ryzen 7 1700 which in theory looks sweet...Is it worth upgrading or should i wait?

Well, i play games occasionally, and the rest is a normal home user stuff...mail,movies,surfing etc...

If you you plunk down 500 to 600 bucks for a new platform, with your type of use, I foresee some serious disappointment and buyers remorse.
