Long story short, I've been waiting for windows 10 to come out to finally make the switch from hdd to ssd as the OS boot drive.

At the moment the only possible way I can see of going through this is uninstalling the windows key on my hdd and installing windows 7 with that product key on my ssd to then upgrade to windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool.

If someone could guide me to the most efficient way of going through this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Solution
Right. You can't Upgrade to 10 and change drives at the same time.

Option 1: Install your current OS on the SSD, then upgrade to 10
Option 2: Upgrade to 10 on your current drive, then migrate that, or clean install, on your SSD

Can't do both at the same time.

Personally, I think a clean install of Win 7 on your SSD, then upgrade to Win 10, would be best.
Why? You're starting out with a brand new OS install on a brand new drive. No old junk with it.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Also, just to make sure. Would I be able to go back to my hdd and reactivate my windows 7 key and have dual boot drives?

No.
After you Upgrade your current Windows 7 to Windows 10, you can't continue to use that Windows 7 license.
The Win 10 is an Upgrade for your 7. Basically, you are trading your old rusty Windows 7 license for a shiny new Windows 10 license.

One or the other.

Oh alright, thanks again for the help!
