Upgrade to gaming system with $230

Hi I realize that my pc isn't good enough for bf3 and i need help choosing what to upgrade and buy
i have no experience what so ever

Budget:$230(including shipping and tax)

I currently have a Acer Aspire x1700
INTEL(R) PENTIUM(R) Dual CPU E2220 @ 2.40GHz
4GB RAM
And recently i upgraded my graphics card to Radeon HD6570 so don't worry about that piece

i was thinking of getting a new motherboard, processor, and ram
but like I said I have absolutely no experience on this

Hey the 6570 you own is not powerful enough to play BF3. You should mention where you stay as shipping is included in your budget.
Consider selling your 6570 or replacing it . It will give you more money to spend a little extra, as the budget is of constraint.
Also ensure you have a decent PSU to support these components.
Since you will be buying these new components consider selling the old motherboard,CPU RAM to fetch some more money.
Assuming you can cough $30 more, do look into this suggestion:

Motherboard: $45- Biostar 760G

CPU & RAM: $108- AMD Athlon X3 455 & Patriot Signature (2x 4GB)

GPU: $110- XFX Radeon 6770

Total(Excluding Rebates): 263 USD

Rebates: 20 USD

The 6770 doesnt fit in my case b/c the heatsink is too tall

and i dont think the motherboard fits.. the motherboard i currently have looks like this

and since my battery is only 220W
the motherboard and the processor takes 190W this leaves only 30W for my graphics card

Most pre-assembled computers like the acer one will give problem in terms of upgrading. It's better if you can hold for some time until you get more money so that you can get a case and a decent power supply, like around $40-$50 for both. Get HDD , Optical Drive from the Acer desktop, and you will have a new system.

Assuming that this is the PC your talking about? I wouldnt even bother trying to upgrade it, i would gather together as much cash as you can, sell that, and start from scratch.

Here's a suggestion on the bare minimum that you may need to spend to have a decent gaming PC:

Motherboard: $45- Biostar 760G

CPU & RAM: $108- AMD Athlon X3 455 & Patriot Signature (2x 4GB)

GPU: $110- XFX Radeon 6770

HDD & Optical Drive: $0- Salvage from the previous build

PSU: $45- Corsair CX430(has a $8 promo off)

Case: $20-$30 Anything within this range.

Total (Excluding Rebates): $320-$330

Rebates: $40

This should allow you to game decently till around 1600X900.
