Upgrade to Ryzen 7 2700x, but frames worst than previous processor, Ryzen 3 1200.

I recently upgraded from a Ryzen 3 1200 to a Ryzen 7 2700x to hope for better overall performance. When I had the Ryzen 3 1200 in my system, Fortnite (lol) would run at about 120ish fps, but with the 2700x in my system, I'm getting about 50-60 and it's really bugging me. I have an R9 280x in my system so I know there's some major bottlenecking there, but I don't know if that's the issue. Any help?

I would re-flash the bios and reinstall windows. Start from the top. Not sure what ram you have but enable XMP or whatever AM4 boards have.
