So, there are so many monitors out there, and while i was browsing, I found a few I think sound good to upgrade to from my Dell 1680 x 1050, run of the mill, basic monitor, which is a bit behind on the times, compared to my rig:
i7 5820k (4.2 Ghz)
16GB Corsair Vengance 2666mhz
R9 390

So I have the choice between 3 monitors (Feel free to recommend a monitor, my budget is around £300, but I am flexible, cheaper the better though)

A curved 1080p Monitor, with basic features.

(Not sure if the curve is worth it really?)

A High End 1080p Gaming Monitor (Non-Curved)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B013YIR5WU/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1RCAVNTQYDOJ0&coliid=I19LX49X6IC14T

(This has a 1ms response time / Freesync / and 144hz, just not sure if any of this is worth it?)

And finaly a falt, and fairly basic 1440p monitor

http://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-GW2765HT-inch-LED-Monitor/dp/B00M913DVG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1458835410&sr=8-2&keywords=1440p+monitor

(This is more expensive than the gaming monitor, and loses out on the other features, however, it is 1440p over 1080p, which I believe is more suited for my rig)

Of course if non of these are really suitable for my rig, should I save up and get a decent gaming 1440p Monitor, or does it not make a whole lot of difference?

Thanks for reading.

Freesync is worth it mainly as it makes the monitor match the FPS of the GPU instead of what VSYNC does which is makes the GPU match the monitors refresh rate. This allows for much smoother gaming overall.

While a higher resolution wouldn't be too bad, the R9 390 can handle most games at 1440P, I would go for smoother gameplay over higher resolution personally.

I don't plan to go above 1080P until the next generation of GPUs can play current games at 60FPS average consistently.
