If you're performing the upgrade, then yes. It should save your old stuff, and keep comparable programs. BUT, it's always best practice to make a full system backup before doing anything drastic such as a full OS upgrade.

When you install the upgrade, you will be informed of what can and cannot be saved. You can make your adjustments accordingly. For instance, some apps might not be compatible with windows 10 (smh) but they will give a text layout so you can reinstall/re download/etc what you want. Also as a precautionary measure backup all of your files, settings, etc that you want to keep. You might also want to make some form of recovery media just in case. Prepare for the good and bad right?

Well I have too many save data of games and high-end(too big) games and too many programs so i dont think i will be apla to back up 550gb+

But I really want dx12 improvements like SLI with my palit super jetsream gtx 960 and my hd graphics 4600!
