Question Upgrade

I have a Asus z790 MB with intel 14900k, RTX 4090, DDR5 7200 64 GB, two M.2 4TB each 5th Gen running Raid0. I am wanting to get a Asus z890 Hero Maximus and Intel Core 9 285, can I setup in bios Raid0 and keep everything on system without have to start over again reinstalling Win 11 Pro and all my software

So your system appears to live on 2x 4TB drives, in RAID 0. Being a single volume of 7452GB.
Win 11 Pro.

And you want to change the motherboard and CPU from Z790/14900k to Z890 Hero/9-285

And hope to just plug it all in and it boots up with the old OS and everything else?



Yeah.....no.
That is highly unlikely to actually work.

No.

The new system needs a fresh OS install.

Backup the non-OS data to elsewhere, and recover after the OS install (and install of all your applications).

By "performance", I mean actually working with the PC/files/games.

Not artificial tests.


But, whatever.

With this system rebuild, the concept still stands....you NEED a fresh OS install.

I have no problem running games and apps running at default my pc is fast enough for that I just boot it up for benchmarks just a cool hobby of mine have a good afternoon
