So basically I upgraded from an i5 4760k cpu to an i7 4790 cpu
i then proceeded to update my bios to the latest version and despite that when i turn on the pc i get a "no signal, check video cable" message.

I am running with an Asus h81m-c motherboard and a gtx 780 graphics card with the latest drivers and 8gb of ram (1 stick).

When i plug the i5 back in everything works fine and the pc turns on no problem.
The problem only occurs when i run with the i7.

Can anyone advise please. Thanks.

Check to make sure your computer isn't using the Integrated gpu instead of the dedicated gpu. So try plugging your monitor into the back of your mobo. Usually if you pull your cmos battery it fixes this problem sometimes. If you don't know what the cmos is watch a youtube video.
