Recently upgraded from Nvidia Geforce 9600 GS to PNY Geforce GTX 750 2GB. Links to computer, motherboard, card and power supply are listed below.
After I installed the new 520w PSU and card, the computer booted normally and I installed drivers with no issues. I turned on the computer the next day and still no issues. I went to install and play Metro 2033, it ran its install of software and after 20 minutes I left the game and turned off the computer. The next day the computer booted, but at the point where it should load to desktop, a distorted image (similar to a NES cartridge that was dusty i.e. jumbled picture) would display for a moment then the unit would reboot. I spent the next few hours trying startup repair and did three system restores which finally got me to the desktop.
I imaged the unit after that and shut down for the day. Two days later I booted up with no issues and tried to load the same game, which froze and rebooted the computer. I tried from there to load the image with no luck and still can only get to the desktop with safe mode. I have not tried safe mode with networking to update drivers for the card or to check windows update. I am currently running Win 7 64 bit. I don't believe it is a PSU issue, I think it could be a driver issue and once I get off work today I am going to go into safe mode with networking to test that out. I have also not tried running other steam games. If there is any advice out there it would be much appreciated. As stated before, links to my computer, motherboard, new graphic card, and new PSU are listed below. Thanks in advance for any information that may be provided.
