My 2.4C gave up on me, i think i kinda killed it with OC, so i went to my retailer since it's within 6 months i got my full refund and got a 2.6C because it was on sale(spent 30 bucks canadian extra. With the OCZ ram 1:1 Dram ratio, I got to 270FSB without any problems at all. 3510mhz, Vcore's at 1.65, Vdimm at 2.85, i'm trying to kill my motherboard now so i can get an ABIT IC7 Max3. How should i kill my mobo? by spilling AS3 everywhere? or is there a cleaner way?

Planning to push this thing further but i think i'm going to try to keep this chip for at least a year. So I'm thinking about nothing past 1.65 Vcore, i want to see how high i could get with only 1.65V.

Too bad about your 2.4C. :frown: What voltage were you using when it died?

Now you have to change your sig.

Hay keep us posted cause i am quite sure we will see where this bad boy will go, ha ha, think you will top 3.8, or are you trying for longevity.

2.4C died at 1.75V constantly. using 5:4 dram ratio so far I've pushed to 280FSB 3640mhz however not stable in prime95 at 1.65vcore, raising to 1.7 seemed to stabled it. At 1.7 the highest stable frequency attained was 290FSB, 3770mhz not stable in Prime95, boosted vcore a little 1.8, stabled in Prime95 and Sandra. Struggled for 295FSB, 3835mhz. Barely stable when i increase 1 more FSB it won't post. Tried 1.95Vcore, i slapped myself in the face after that, turned my Tornado to full, computer BOOTED AT 310FSB, 4030MHZ!!!, but it's no where near stable, my SLK900U was BURNING, after 10min of Freedom Fighters, which then my computer crashed.

I also got a new harddrive, Got SATA because it was on sale, cheaper than standard Ultra ATA so might as well. Right now i've decided to keep my chip running at 250FSB, 3250mhz, this way i can use minimum rpm on my Tornado, save my precious eardrums. I don't have to touch the Vcore at 250FSB. And my OCZ can handle 2-3-3-8 at 250mhz!!!

Thanks, oh yeaaaaaaa, I just finished downloading Command and Conquer Zero Hour.

but i have 13x multiplier hehehehe.

Have to Kill my mobo within the next 2 months, so I could get a Abit IC7 Max3.

Well I'm not keeping it there since it's not stable at ALL. I need a watercooling setup.

What's pretty amazing to me is that you were able to reach that speed on air, if only briefly.

I wonder how many watts your CPU is dissipating at that speed.

When Northwood was introduced I remembered seeing at OCWorkbench.com overclocks in the 4.0 ghz range but liquid nitrogen cooling was needed.

The P4 yields must be much better if 4.0 ghz can be reached on air.

I REALLY want to get watercool but my parents won't let me.

I know it sucks. I guess i'll wait 'til prometia's price drops, hopefully within next 2 years.

hey boss are you still using stockcool on that 2.4C?

Ya bought 3 Enermax fans plus 2 stock fans. Looking to buy 2 more. One for Vid card that sits on side door of case. Plus change the stock one under HD. Looking at Antec Smartcool plus. Still researching. I don't want jet engines to keep it kool.

5 92mm Tornados would definently be quiet and cool, right?
