So I decided to take advantage of the last few days of the free Windows 10 upgrade and upgrade my computer from Windows 7. I ran the updater and it told me that I need to restart my computer. It restarted my computer and it froze on the "Starting Windoes" screen.

That screen freezes. System repair goes to a black screen and sits there. Hitting F8 to get me into Safe Mode works until it just keeps freezing. Ran a test to make sure my hard drive is ok, and it is. Everything seems to constantly freeze at the same point. Tried to boot off a Win 7 CD, and it won't work. I'm at my wits end. Any suggestions?

Solution
Restore from the full system backup you made before attempting the upgrade. You did make a backup, didn't you? I know I always do.

Good luck.
