I'm looking to upgrade my AMD Phenom II X6 processor but am having trouble deciding between a few choices. Would going from this processor to an Intel 3570K be a downgrade? I mostly use this computer for Premiere Pro and Photoshop, some gaming in there too. I'm also looking at the AMD 8350 but am thinking about power consumption at the same time. I will also consider the i7 3770K as well but it'll take some convincing. What will give me the better performance overall?

In tech world 6 months is a lot of time and the silence by AMD more likely means problems than anything else.

As for Keller, his return to AMD is too late to affect Steamroller unless AMD delay it's release.

He's been there a year now...I doubt an engineer like him wouldn't begin having an impact from day one.

I guess we will have to wait and see. The news about HD9000 series release in 2013 makes me think that we might actually get Steamroller sooner as well. Hope that's the case - don't really want to support Intel by purchasing Haswell and the overpriced 1150 mobo.
