Upgrading an HP desktop

I have an HP a6537c desktop which was my fathers computer. When the hard drive failed, I took the system, installed a new larger hard drive and reloaded it with the Recovery Disks for Vista 64. Since that time I have purchased the OS upgrade to Windows 8/8.1 and recently made the upgrade to Windows 10.

The CPU can be upgraded on this mobo but finding an available CPU is difficult since this was originally manufactured in the 2006-2007 timeframe. My next choice is to purchase a new motherboard and CPU.

I've read some of the other posts regarding the OEM version of Microsoft Windows (Vista 64) that came with this system and problems upgrading to a new motherboard might bring. Since I have upgraded twice (Win 8/8.1 and Win 10) will I still have this problem?

Microsoft won't transfer your old software license if you get a new motherboard.

You're looking at a new motherboard + new CPU.
This also means new RAM. New GPU. A new case, because that 8 year old HP case probably won't hold everything. Oh, and a new PSU to power it.

Basically, a whole new PC.
