Hey guys, i was looking to buy a new graph card to replace my rusty old GT 520, and initially i was thinking an HD7850 but due to insufficient funds; i was forced to look at a range of HD7790.
My specs are as follows:
CPU: Intel i7-2600
Mobo: Intel DH67BL (one x16 2.0 lane)
PSU: SS-350HS , yes it has a 6pin PCIe, and plenty of 4 pin molex connectors. Also a +12 EPS if that's any good.
2x4GB RAM, transcend, 1333Mhz
1TB HDD Seagate Barracuda
a 23/24" 1080 monitor.

So i want a card that'll run, comfortable at 1080p Ultra/very high, games like BF3/4 ; FarCry3 , Starcraft2, you get the drift, modern games.
Now this card must come from flipkart.com , no newegg or anything, keep in mind im from india. Im not looking for a straight 60FPS, but i consider anything liek 40ish good enough.
Electronics here are a tad bit expensive, so also bear that in mind; my budget is Rs. 11000.
Target list:

The only other card i see close to this is the GTX650ti/GTX560
thanks.

the 650ti BOOST is about equal to a 7850.
on the 7790 level, half a step behind there is the 650ti
a step lower would be the 7770

the 7790 will play all those games you listed on high. ultra... no probably not. a number of them it should be able to play on ultra (starcraft 2, bf3), however the rest you listed would need something like 2 7950s in xfire to play on ultra at 60fps.

If you're playing StarCraft, the GTX 650 Ti Boost is your best option by a long shot. Nvidia cards are head and shoulders above the best AMD cards in that game.

And here's the cumulative chart summarizing 18 gaming benchmarks. As you can see the GTX 650 Ti Boost is the best option in this price range and the GTX 650 Ti is a great step down option.

Ti boost seems nice.

And im not ONLY playing SC2, i play bf3, dishonored, xcom, WOW, kingdoms of amalur, TESV, SNiper 2 Ghost warrior, BFBC2...you get the fdriftt, a LOT of games, i dont intensively play 2 or 3 games. SO i hope the 650ti boost would work with a single 6 pin PCIe? Cause i haave a 350W psu that i dont wanna stress too much right now, though im upgrading. Its TDP is covered by one 6 pin, right?

however, the 850 seems to be better?

the 650ti BOOST and HD 7850 are both about 120-130W gpus which might draw as much as 150-170W under load and heavy overclock. Your psu probably will handle it, however, if you're concerned the 7790 is a very nice compromise. its the fastest sub 100W gpu in existence.

350 watts is a little light on power for any of these cards. If its a quality unit and you are not overclocking, your CPU it might work.

Your list really leans significantly towards the GTX 650 Ti Boost. One that jumps out is XCOM, which is a GPU accelerated PhysX game that will require an Nvidia card for those effects. WoW, Dishonored, Skyrim, and BF3 will all run better on the 650. In fact in Skyrim, the 650 will allow you to force Ambient Occlusion, which greatly enhances the graphics throughout the game. AMD cards are not able to force AO. As you can see from the chart, the 650 Ti Boost is all-around slightly faster in those 18 games.

The 7850 has a TDP of 130, doesnt it? yeah , yeah i have a Seasonic PSU , so thats pretty much saying it all, 17a on 12V1 and 12V2 both.

My CPU is not OCd, and its actually pretty power efficient, never seen it go above 65W (TDP95), even at 100% (stress test) use.|
So a 650Ti boost it is?
