Upgrading Computer Parts

I am needing to upgrade my computer.

Here is my current build, from the schematics I have looked up:
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU
6GB RAM DDR2
64 Bit Windows 10
Nvidia Geforce 9500 GT

Looking to get this:
Intel 3.70 GHZ Core i3-6100 3M Cache Processor
MSI Gaming Intel H270 DDR4 HDMI USB 3 Crossfire ATX Motherboard
Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 2GB GDDR5 128 Bit PCI-E Graphic Card

Does anyone know if this new build is optimal, and work together? I have looked at the specs, and it looks good. Is there anything else that I might need? I have the harddrives, and the DDR4.

Those will cost under $400. Not wanting to spend more than $500... already have to convince my wife that I need to update it. LOL

I'm actually not sure on the DDR4... my friend is going to let me borrow them for awhile... that is if they work.
Does the DDR4 Model matter? Wasn't exactly sure.

Quick question, I was told that a micro motherboard is not a good choice... told to me by best buy. Should I go with the micro? Or save, and get a regular one?

Micro is cheaper with less features, if you can afford an ATX instead, go ahead All depends on budget. For major functionality, same. Diff will be how many slots you have to spare like sata, pci e etc.
