Hey guys,

I have this rather old, pre-built computer that I received as a Christmas present a few years ago. It has served me well but I want to start going about upgrading/ replacing it.

Specs as of right now:
Motherboard: AAHD2-HY (Holly)
Cpu: AMD A6 3650
Ram: 8GB stick of some generic brand
PSU: 80+ Bronze 475w

Here is the link to the HP product page: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03363664

I got the psu from an old server pc, so thats why it is different than the one listed.

I am looking to completely revamp my pc, but I dont want to wait until i have all of the funds to get it all at once. So first im just going to get the GPU.

GPU im getting is a Sapphire Radeon R9 270x:

I am confident that the card with actually fit in the case. I am just concerned about compatibility. I dont believe there will be an issue, but i dont want to get this and have it laying around until i can get the mother board and cpu.

Edit: I just realized that the r9 280 is only $5 more, so ill end up getting that instead of the 270x.

Thank you.

Solution
personally i wouldnt do anything without a better psu. those old no name brand boxes are terrible. if your motherboard has a pci express slot free then it should work fine

Im not using the old no name, im using a 475w 80+ Bronze supply. Im forgetting the name at the moment, but its good. And yea, there is a 16x pcie slot. So i think its all good
