I'm curious if its worth the 6800k is that much better that its worth the price increase, im upgrading from an AMD A6-5400K, because it's bottle necking my Radeon 7770 Graphics card. If you need any more info let me know, thanks!

The GPU half of the APU is all that is different between the 5800K & the 6800K, the CPU half is the same, minus the higher clock speed. I would recommend the 5800K, unless you plan to use on board graphics.

I only plan on using the CPU half, so isn't the higher clock speed important?

Its helpful, but with the unlocked multiplier, you can Overclock it to match the speed, or go a bit higher.

So im curious, what is a higher clock speed helpful for exactly? the 6800k had a turbo of 4.9, were as the 5800's overclock was 4.2. Would you really notice the difference?

FX4350 is AM3+ only and requires a whole new board.

whoopsy daisy. Noticed it almost as soon as I posted it.

Only in CPU intensive parts of the game, it would be noticeable, otherwise the GPU handles it. Most likely its a difference of about 5 to 10 Frames, not even.
Its also helpful in other CPU intensive programs, but most times barely any one will notice a difference.

Since when did the FX-Series CPUs became compatible with FM2? the last time i checked which is a minute ago is it still for AM3+ O_O,

I saw some review of 6800k and 5800k having discrete GPUs, the difference is just 1-3fps on some games, i dont know if that is a lot of FPS for you, if it is then go for 6800k. I don't know where will u be buying but in my country 6800k costs around $30+ more than 5800k(this is a rough estimation of our currency being converted to USD),

1. The poster noticed his error and apologized.
2. Reason why I recommended the 5800K, its cheaper, and still capable.

The games im playing are usually very cpu intensive, i play alot of the arma series (ArmA 2 Dayz Arma 3) with alot of mods, and im tired of playing games on there lowest settings, thanks for your help, hopefully there isnt that big of a difference so i think i'll go with the 5800!

If there is an issue, the unlocked multiplier is your friend, you can push the CPU a bit higher if need be, just keep an eye on temperature and keep the voltage as close to stock as possible, if you do push it higher.

If you decide the FM2 socket isn't fast enough, you always have the FX 6300 & FX8320/50 available on the AM3+ socket, which should be more then fast enough, but will require a new board & CPU.

Either way it should be a huge upgrade, thanks for your help!

It will, from an A6, and no problem!
