As the title says I'm upgrading and I wasn't sure if I needed to buy a new copy of Windows or not. I upgraded from Windows 8 to 10 back when they were doing that for free so I don't have a disk or anything. Is it possible to still use this copy or am I going to have to blow $100 for another copy?

Solution
Maybe... but not in my experience.

Good "how to" here.

Basically, make sure you "Link your Windows 10 digital license to your Microsoft account. " ahead of time.
You create your own installation media here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10

You may have to run the troubleshooter inside Windows once you're up and running (skip when asked for a key).
