Upgrading CPU and need some help

I've gotten sick and tired of my CPU overheating and the pefromance bottleneck in games so I've decided to go ahead and upgrade to a core i5 as well as get some minor upgrades in the process.

The list is as follows:

CPU - Intel core i5 4670x Haswell
Motherboard - Asus H81M-Plus - Now I know this isn't an amazing board, but I will be upgrading to a H97 in a few months, so I just need an operational board for now.

Does this look alright? My current specs are:

AMD Athlon x4 760k Black Edition
MSI A78M-E35
MSI Radeon R9 270 2GB Gaming Edition
4GB DDR3 Corsair Value Ram - another 4GB is also coming with the above items
500w EVGA PSU
Zalman Z3 Plus ATX/Mid-tower case
500GB Seagate HDD

You'd better take a 4690k which has better TIM and also a Z97 mobo which has support for 4th and 5th gen proc's.
Also , If you arent overclocking you are better off with a 4690 (non k version) and an H97 board.

Like I said I will be upgrading the motherboard in a few months (Maybe around the end of September/early October. I've got a set budget of around £250 so upgrading the CPU a little further may be a bit of a problem as well as the board for now.

OK - so in the longer term get an i5 4670k plus Asus Z87-A or

i5 4690k with Asus Z97-A or Asrock Z97 Extreme 4

I'd prefer the Z97 due to the fact that I'll be able to upgrade to broadwell without having to get a completely new motherboard.

I wouldn't waste the money on an interim upgrade, if you ar just going to upgrade again in a couple of months. I would just save the cash and upgrade the one time. Then you wouldn't have to get 2 new licenses for windows, one for the interim upgrade and another for the final upgrade.

I have a retail windows, not an OEM, I wont have to buy a new licence.

Sadly I'm British, I don't have the newegg deals. There is a UK newegg but doesn't have everything I need right now.
