I'm going from this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/k6FtD3

To This: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fyNQJx

I was going to go with the locked i7-6700 but people in the Reddit buildapc recommended I do this to keep my current RAM and then it would free up some budget to get a new PSU

I might also throw in a 250GB Samsung EVO SSD because I'm having issues with my current SSD freezing up every now and then with 100% usage (so unless I can fix that I might get another SSD too)

thoughts?

lol, YES! I've gotten this 100 times already 😛 hence upgrade time, some of the pieces here I've salvaged together obviously.... just trying to see right now if a Xeon 1231 is worth so i can keep my old RAM and get a new PSU and save some $$ or get a locked 6700 and then id get 8 gigabytes of DDR4 RAM

I had a feeling you were going to say that and i will say this, you are holding that 980 ti back with that processor BIGTIME.

I use to have the fx 8350 and it held back my gtx 970.

Why not get the 4790k and keep your ram?
