So currently I'm having CPU bottlenecking problems and honestly the pc is not the newest and is a bit <Mod Edit> anyway. I for sure want to upgrade the CPU, which will likely mean new MOBO (and I assume ddr4 ram), and im unsure if upgrading my GPU is worth it but I assume so. I realize its probably not gonna be cheap but any budget options would be nice. I have a brand new CPU cooler which should be fine, power supply might need to be changed too idk what goes into deciding if that needs to be changed.

Current pc:
CPU - AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor 3.50 GHz
GPU - Radeon RX 580
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-970-Gaming SLI
PSU - High power hpg-700st-f12s 600W
Case - iBUYPOWER Tt Versa N27 Gaming Case

Honestly i just want to be able to play games at 60 fps and 1080p, upgrading the parts and all the cost/performance or compatibility stuff i would love some help on, any other questions just ask, Thank you!

Replacing the RX580 would be extremely expensive at the moment, so I would keep that.

Everything else, yeah, replace. I suppose you could keep the chassis.

CPU cooler will need to fit AM4 or Intel LGA 115x/1200.

Bargain recommendation is an i5-10400F and a cheap B560 motherboard, 2x8GB 3200Mhz DDR4. Ryzen 3600 is also an okay choice with a B550 motherboard (for later upgrade to 5000 series chips)

Next would be a step up Intel's ladder to the i5-11400 / F. This is a little faster, runs a little hotter, but same B560 motherboard and 3200Mhz memory.

Lastly there is the current leader in gaming price/performance. Ryzen 5600X, 2x8GB DDR4 3600Mhz and a B550 motherboard, or fancier X570 motherboard.

You will also want a new power supply, mostly due to age at this point. And you can move on to NVMe storage.

Power supply seems overkill, but it is a high quality unit for not much more than other available units at the moment. Superflower Leadex III Gold at 550W is an alternative.

11600k is cheaper at this exact moment, might want to wait for some things to come into stock. (Ideally add a Z590 board to gain overclocking)

Makes the AMD build below a lot more enticing.

First of all you are a godsend

What would be the performance comparison for the 10400F vs the Ryzen 5600X (or even the 11600k vs the 5600X since they seem more comparable)? Its $100 more but if its worth it that's fine with me, I live in a very warm place and I'm not super interested in overclocking so that isn't a factor, but tyvm for the part lists, I've been delaying trying to find parts for like 2 weeks you made my life so much easier lmao.

Thank you for the video, i can figure it out from here tysm everyone. Also how does it work with windows 10? if imp replacing my mobo will the license be gone and i need a new one? i assume i cant just replace the parts and boot like normal.

If you have a retail edition you should be able to reactivate with no issue. If you have an oem license you may have more trouble. Seems like someone on here once said you can link windows to a Microsoft account. In times past it seems like they’ve let me reactivate a windows license if I haven’t used it in a long time. Or you may be able to call in and be really nice and they may activate it.
