Question Upgrading CPU

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1660S (Super)
SSD: Kingston A400 120GB
HDD: WD Blue 1TB (2012)
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V DDR4 2400 C15 2x4GB
MBD: MSI B450 GAMING PLUS (MS-7B86)
These are my components i am looking to upgrade my CPU for Christmas and later on my GPU, can you recommend any good CPUs for gaming which also is compatible with the motherboard? The CPU is also limited to amd ryzen. Some more information of what the motherboard can support: supports 1st, 2nd and 3rd Gen AMD® Ryzen™/

Some BIOS updates might in fact remove compatibility with 1000-series Ryzen CPUs, as some mainboards had limited EPROM space for yet larger BIOS downloads, and some had to drop earlier CPU support for support of later models... (Not sure at all if that applies to your model, but, there should be some notes regarding it if it applies at all)

Certainly the 5800X or 5800X3D would provide substantial lifts in CPU potential, although you would likely be GPU limited at even 1080P in many titles... (not intended as a slight, as I am still on a GTX1060 myself!)
