Hello I'm trying to upgrade from BIOS to UEFI with a gigabyte motherboard.
Product Name: GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 (Rev 1.3)

From the guides I've read what I need to do is make a bootable (DOS startup disk FAT32) USB (using windows98 bootfiles through HPusbdisk.exe then copy the files to the usb, boot from the USB and instantly I'm done.

Well when I do this it hangs on "Loading operating system... windows 98" Just sits there does nothing. Now I'm pretty sure it shouldn't even mention windows98 so something has gone wrong I'm not great with computers so I really have no ideas I've been trying to fix this for hours.

Has anyone successfully done this before?

Try booting into DOS first to see if the DOS startup Disk works.

You also need to run the Gigabyte BIOS .exe file to extract the compressed files before attempting to flash the BIOS.

Solution
I've made several Bootable USB sticks, CF cards, and SD cards using HPUSBDISK. I have best luck using smaller devices, 2GBytes or so. I use the Windows 98se real-mode DOS bootfiles. I use Win7 to create the bootable devices.
