Upgrading from gtx 1050 to 1060

specs:
cpu: i5 6600
gpu: palit gtx 1050 2gb stormx
ram: 1x8gb 2133
psu:cougar 550w

i want to play high end games like gta 5, assassins creed origin, pubg etc.
In high to ultra setting 1080p and i am planning to upgrade my gpu to gtx 1060.
Is it ok or should i pay a little more for gtx 1070?

Get a GTX 1070 to pair with the i5 6600.

1060 is enough to play any game on ultra at 1080p. It is not sufficient for any higher resolution or higher refresh rate.

If this is the card you plan on using for the next several years then I would get a 1070 to be more "future-proof" as games get more demanding

If this is just for a year or two then you could get away with the 1060 and not see much of any difference.

From my prospective i dont see that small jump worth it unless you sell the old card for a decent price, it actually isnt even old.

Why didn't you save up a little longer so to get a better card rather than wasting money.

1050 to 1060 6gb is actually a very large jump in performance.

GTX1060 6gb is a reasonable jump.

But, if you have the budget for a GTX1070, I say go for it.
If you do not, you will forever wonder if you should have.
I have never regretted paying more for something good.
