36% quicker single-core, 24% quicker quad-core according to that.

I think Intel made the claim 6700K was 10% quicker than 4790K, 20% quicker than 4770K and 30% quicker than 3770K but I assumed that was an exaggeration.

The i7 6700K has hyper-threading though so it's 82% quicker according to that as "multi-core."

But yeah, maybe it's about 30% quicker than your current processor and both can be overclocked almost as much so that still holds but the i7 also have hyper-threading.

Your processor is close to the i5 4590:

But yours is over-clockable.

I would...
You will not see much of an upgrade in gaming unless the game utilizes Direct X12 and hyper-threading, a cheaper equivalent would be the i7 4790k but even then I doubt you will see much of an improvement in games.

I would just try to get hold of a used motherboard I guess and use it and catch the next generation instead (get a Skylake-E?)
