i currently have an i 5 6600k OC to 4.8ghz water cooled with a 1070 OC as well

i have started to notice that the cpu is showing signs of age as games are being utilized to use more cores

so i am planing on upgrading to an 8700k which has 6 cores or i go with an 8 core cpu
looking for advice on with CPU should i get and of course i know i have to get a mobo as well

another question is am i going to have to buy a new CPU water block for this upgrade

MONEY is not an issue for the upgrade please feel free to through mother board ideas at me as well

I sold my 6600k not too long ago.

there's also a maximus hero for coffee lake which should be a bit cheaper.

it would suck if you bought a great board but end up with bad silicon tho. the good boards are quite costly.

6600k @4.8ghz oc is a pretty good chip.

For boards, I'd get a ROG Maximus for 8700K.

Not the best timing to buy a new system right now

no I meant rog maximus x apex.

the socket 115x waterblocks should be either universal or compatible in some ways. doubt you'll need a new one. how much are you going to sell the 4790K ?

haha i like my 4790k lol thats the build i did for my wife back when the 4790k came out
but ill sell you my i5 6600k because thats the one im upgrading

my biggest concern is when i buy a new mobo and cpu i have to get a new CPU block
i also can decide weather or not to go for a 6 core or 8 core cpu right now

the mother boards i was thinking about the asus maximus or the msi pro carbon gaming or the gigabyte gameing 7 mobo
