I'm looking to beef up an older PC. It's stuck on DDR specs (Motherboard only recognizes DDR) and besides more RAM, I'm looking for a newer video card.

Speccy stuff, because why not?

Solution
Another problem! Your board only has an AGP slot no PCIe and your 7600GT is among the highest performing AGP cards produced with ATI HD3850 as the best AGP card.

Can you give me some suggestions anyway?

Well crap. Thanks anyway.

A modern AMD APU system would outperform that easy for not that much money.

Would that be compatable with my system? What exactly is an APU?
