First off, I wanted to say hello to everyone here... these forums seem like a great place to answer all my questions!
Now, I'm ready to update my system which I use mainly for gaming. Right now I have a P4 2.4ghz Northwood, 8kb L1 cache, 512kb L2 cache, on a pretty lame VIA mainboard, and a Radeon 8500LE (don't laugh too hard).
I'm looking at the AMD's after reading about them at various sites and forums. I found a few that seem good to me, but I've used Intel on almost all my computers before, so I'm not sure:
Biostar and Athlon 64 3000
Abit and Athlon 64 3200
Would either of these be a good choice? (along with a good video card and RAM, of course)
If anyone has any suggestions as to what I should get, please let me know. I'm looking to spend around 300-400 on a mainboard and CPU if possible.
Thanks and I'm sure I'll have more posts coming 8)
